Tripping next week...
Mar. 8th, 2007 11:50 amSo, the ELAN trip next week is still kinda up in the air. We're treating it like it's still a-go though.
Problems company-wise:
1) Next week is NCAA tournament in Lexington and all the hotels are booked. Lodging is definitely a question at this point.
2) We're needing to take stuff with us. Jim is currently at the store buying some, if not all, of said stuff.
3) The number of systems we're working on has jumped from 170 to 200.
4) There are parts that are needed that we aren't sure we'll have when we get there.
Problems personally:
Due to familial obligations, Adkins can't stay at my place for the entire week and his mother won't allow him to keep Fancy at her place. So, Fancy will be going with me. Jim says this isn't a problem and was actually joking yesterday about teaching her to attack and have her go after some of the people we'll be working with :) It's nice to know that she's being accepted and allowed to go along with me.
We'll be leaving out Monday for KY unless we're told not to go. The guys at coporate are saying the job will take 2 wks, but Jim wants to get it done in one. He wants us to work 10-12 hr. days, to which I'm not averse. Just means I may not get to visit with friends in the area as originally hoped, but we'll see what happens when we get there on that one. Also, the main thing I see that could hold us back is how limited we'll be on workspace and knowing exactly what we'll need to be doing. If this is simply replacing HDD's, installing firmware, testing and reboxing, give me 4 workspaces and I can get these things going pretty quickly. If it's more in depth than that, I'd still want 4 workspaces, it'd just go a little slower.
In other news, went up to Sci Fi City last night. Played against Mike and we tied. Actually, I won, but due to a screw up we decided not to count one fig I killed despite the fact that it would still have died on the same turn, just to a different model than the one that originally killed it. I'm currently ranked 9th of 15 players. Will play more this weekend. Also, going to see "300" with Adkins Friday night. Not sure of the time yet, will call Adkins about it tonight.
Well, off to get more work done.
