So, how's life at your end of the world?
Mar. 6th, 2007 09:50 amDoing pretty good here. Learning quite a bit at the new job. As a matter of fact, I may be traveling to Lexington, KY next week with the my boss to do some work at an ELAN plant up there. Not sure how long the job will last as they're also flying some folks over from the UK to help out with this project. The UK peeps seem to think it will take about 2 wks to do the work, but that will depend on the number of work stations we have for doing the work. Going to talk to Adkins about having him house-sit/Fancy-sit for me while I'm gone.
The Warmachine league is going well. Our team is still in the team lead although we've all been on a losing streak lately. I won my first league game and one game weekend before last simply because John, my opponent, wanted the game over quickly and placed his warcaster in range for my warcaster and other troops to reach him in hand-to-hand combat. Usually, 2-3 of the guys are standing around watching my games and trying to give me advice. One of them would be okay, but more than that and it becomes sensory overload for me. Friday evening and Sunday afternoon I played a couple more games without anyone helping me and felt as though I'd done pretty well despite losing both games.
Aikidragon came over Saturday. He brought the last of the items I needed for doing my taxes, yay! We ran around West Knoxville a bit looking for computer parts for him and caught a little lunch. Gave him a haircut as well. That evening, went over to Wayne and Claudia's and gave Morgan and Wayne haircuts also.
Fancy is adjusting pretty well. Found out that there is a gap between the ceiling tiles and the actual ceiling in my bedroom. The gap is visible from inside the closets and Fancy found her way into it one night last week. Had to coax her out with sugar to get her out of it. Not letting her play in the bedroom if I'm not there and not letting her near the closets when I am. She seems pretty content to play in the hall closet and the sewing room as well as the living room. She's only ventured into the office a couple of times and hasn't tried going into the kitchen by herself for quite some time now. She's actually reached a point where I can pick her up occassionally and she will just sit in the palm of my hand for 15-20 minutes. She's also taken to crawling into the left front pocket of my jeans and staying there for hours at a time. Sunday, she took up residence inside the sleeve of the button-down sweater I was wearing and stayed there all day until I got home and removed the sweater.
Still trying to get the house organized and it's coming little bit by little bit. Culling a bunch of stuff and realizing that losing 20+ lbs since the end of April means I need to get new pants. Even the hip huggers are getting baggy on me. Guess I can start doing that once the pay starts coming in normal.
