Knoxville Komen Race for the Cure
Oct. 7th, 2009 08:25 pmMost of you are unaware of this. My maternal grandfather died of breast cancer in 1990. He suffered through the removal of lymph nodes, chemo and radiation therapies and went into remission for two years, but it came back and within 6 months had killed him.
To add to this, about the same time they found my grandfathers cancer, one of my aunts was also diagnosed with breast cancer. Sadly, hers had already gotten into her bone marrow causing bone cancer. She beat the breast cancer, but the bone cancer took her life in 2007.
As you can guess, this is a topic that hits close to home. So, this year, I'm participating in the race for the cure as part of Team Temple. If you would, please help out by sponsoring me for the race. For those wanting to do so, you can submit your donations via my personal page for the race:
