Lucked out...

Came by the Roane State Corporate Training Center yesterday to start studying for the Excel Expert Exam.  Got a little ways into the book when students for the evening class in Word II started showing up.  I went ahead and packed up my books to leave when everyone started pointing out that the instructor who is always early wasn't there yet.  After a few phone calls, turns out he had forgotten to write it on his calender and had completely forgotten about it.  I told them that if they wanted I'd go ahead and teach the class and they decided to go with it.  Granted, I'd never seen the book I was to teach out of, but it is Microsoft Word and I've done a lot of work with Word.  There were a couple of things I had never used in the past, but the students didn't seem to have a problem with the fact that they were getting an instructor who hadn't even seen the text yet.  We got started about half an hour after the class was supposed to have started and covered 3 chapters.  I'll go over the rest of the chapters before we have the final class session tomorrow evening.  Also, I told Sonya and Amy, the ones who schedule the instructors, that if they ever have a no show instructor that they are welcome to call me.  Hoping that will get me a few more hours with them.  Pay is a good thing at this point :D
