(Home Improvement) Issues over tile...
Jan. 7th, 2008 10:58 amSo, Friday evening I stopped by Home Depot on my way home from work. Didn't have the sku number for my tiles with me, but the people at HD didn't have any record of my order. Did find out that Robert, the guy I'd talked to the previous weekend would be at work from 7-4 Sat. and teaching a class in laying tile at 11. Wanted to come to the tile class, but also wanted to find out what happened with my order. Well, circumstances didn't allow me to attend the class, so I called over a little before 11 on Sat. hoping to talk to Rob. Turns out, he was doing a workshop with kids and couldn't come to the phone when I called. Got someone whom I could barely hear with what sounded like a Hindi accent who took the sku # and said they'd check on it and call me back. Over 3 hrs. and I never heard back. Finally made my way back to Home Depot and got to talk to Rob. Turns out that he was using the "piece" sku and not the case sku. Not only that, they only had 13 cases in stock, the only store in Knoxville that had it only had 3 cases according to the computer and that the cases have 10 sq ft so I only need 27 cases instead of the 55 I was told I would need. Oh, not only that, they want you to pay for it before they transfer it. Rob said he'd find what I needed, then call me when he had it lined up. That way, I can have dad go by and pay for it and they'll get it transferred in. So, it could be a while before I have tile...sigh...
