It's a mad, mad world...
So, went to Asheville for RevolutiCon and to spend some time with friends that I get to see maybe once or twice a year now. Stayed with ![[profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
thelovelylass and her little one while there. I got there on Halloween, so we all dressed up as pirates and went to the Asheville Mall so the little one could trick-or-treat. We enjoyed it, but it was really crowded. You'd have thought we were within a month of Christmas the way the mall was packed. Call me crazy, but I preferred the whole trick-or-treat bit when it involved walking from house to house in the dark with a flashlight and wondering if your costume was going to be warm enough.
Thursday, we lazed around a bit. I watched little bit while the lass went for a dr. appointment. Later that evening, I metaikidragon for dinner, then we went to The Sword and the Grail so I could pick up the comics they were supposed to be holding for me. Alas, the comics weren't being held. The lass and little bit were in bed by the time I got back.
Friday, we did some running to pick up snacks for the now, non-existent con suite. Decided we'd keep the food at one of the display tables. Dinner at Cracker Barrel and then home for a good movie :)
Saturday, first day of con. The writing and film panels were pretty cool. When we opened, one other person and I were in costume. She was dressed as a browncoat and I was there as Zatanna. She left before mid-afternoon. Later in the evening, a family came with the dad dressed as a browncoat and the daughter dressed as a Racoon City Security person and another friend of mine showed up as a generic jedi. The browncoat won the costume contest :) I stayed for the shindig, but I think everyone left at midnight. Got back to the lass' and crashed.
Sunday, just wore my renn garb. Took Fancy and Madeline with me and everyone loved them. Our costuming panel went pretty well. About half-way through it, a mother came in and both her daughters were in costumes :) I didn't make any of the other panels that day. Did get in one game of Warmachine, 350 pts. againstarisugawa22 and lost, but had fun, which is what was important. Afterward, a group of us went to Olive Garden for dinner. Back at the house, read a few chapters in book 5 of the Dresden Files and caught some sleep.
Monday, got up at 7:30 when little bit came out wanting to see if the girls were still up and playing. They had gone to sleep just a little before she came out. We played for a while and let the lass get some extra sleep. Metfaeriesummer for lunch and then headed home. Had considered staying until Tuesday, but wasn't feeling very well and felt kinda bad because Fancy and Madeline weren't allowed out at Jenn's, so they weren't getting all the exercise they needed. Crashed Monday evening when I got home.
Tuesday, spent the day cleaning house and doing laundry. Dad came over in the evening to see if he could fix my heat again. Turns out, there was a vapor lock on the pump that circulates the water through the pipes in my floor. Dad ran the water for about 45 minutes, which put fresh water into the pipes and I think we got all the air bubbles out. Now, my whole house is heated again :D Picked up a bit more after dinner.
Wednesday, was back to work. 191 work e-mails!!! Oh, well, most of them weren't for me, so I was able to just go through most of them deleting them :D After work, replenished the food in my cupboard and made some dinner. Should have done some more cleaning, but lazed on the couch watching tv instead.
Tonight, must go work out at the gym, then going to finish some house cleaning. For that matter, a lot of what I need to do at this point is file stuff. I hate filing...
