Friday, Wayne and Claudia brought by a Christmas present project they needed my help with.  While they were there, got their opinion on a present idea I had for someone and paid them back money I owed them for replacing tires and mowing yard.  Finished cooking supper and started the W&C present project.  Adkins came over that evening for a bit.  Saturday, finished the W&C present project after a quick trip to Wal-mart for gloss black enamel paint.  They came over that evening and picked up the present project, but didn't stay long because they had to go take care of some friends cats.  Rest of the night, veged on the couch watching Dr. Who and Torchwood.  Sunday, went to Sci Fi City and paid my $10 to finish this years league season patch.  Didn't feel like gaming, so didn't.  They had the new Call of Duty 4 and Adkins played that all day.  While he was playing the single user missions, it wasn't so bad.  When he swapped over to on-line multi-player, I had to walk away for a bit because he was so jerky with the controls that it made me motion sick.  Ate some pretzels, drank some water and watched the last half of John and Skarre-boys Warmachine game.  John had some bad dice rolls and made a couple of bad decisions that cost him the game.  Went back to check on Adkins and Erik playing CoD4.  Watched there game until the mall closed.  Dinner at Great American Steak and Buffet and was home by 9:30.  Again, veged on the couch for a little then sleep.

Work this week should be fairly easy.  Licensing disks for Onkyo and doing Speakercraft repairs.  Jim's out of town for at least a couple of days.  Fun part is we're having problems with our licensing/testing software.  Jason believes it has something to do with our testing software and I think I agree with him.  Well, back to work for me.

So, it's been another two years since my phone contract with Verizon started and I get their "New Every Two" deal.  This year, the offerings that I'm considering, but probably won't pick up until Jan. are the following:

Samsung SCH-u740
Pros - Querty keyboard, camera, mp3 player, large screen, slim, can use the transflash card that I bought for my current phone.
Cons - It's wide and the slimness makes me worry that I'll break it.  Only available at the moment in black.

Juke by Samsung
Pro's - It's compact, camera, mp3 player, wouldn't worry as much about breaking this one, comes with stereo headphones and PC connection cable for downloading music, it's available in several colors.
Cons - Small screen, standard phone keypad, no slots for external memory and despite it's 2 Gb of internal memory, I can't add music to it because it requires WinXP and I'm running W2k.  Granted, I could probably get Adkins to bring his laptop and put music on it for me, but that could take a while.  I mean, it took 6 months to get him to bring me Book 4 of the Dresden Files....

Granted, I don't do a lot of texting, so the qwerty keyboard on the SCH-u740 isn't a necessity, but it is a move toward using more functions on the phone as it'll make it more of a PDA that I can keep notes, shopping lists, wish lists, that sort of thing without losing the papers or notepads I normally write them on.  Trying to use the standard cell phone keypad for this sort of thing is a pain in the ass.

Also, seeing as how it will be Jan. before I actually get a new phone, there may be something new coming out that I'll like better.  But until then, anyone have either of these phones and willing to give an opinion?
