Pet Panic!

Last night, I didn't get to bed until almost 1:00 a.m.  Woke up this morning around 4:30 to hear one of the small furries barking at the other.  I hit the button on my cell phone to get a little light to see what was going on.  It looked like Madeline was in the wire hamster wheel I'd gotten them and running Fancy out of it whenever she came through it.  I didn't look too closely, just told Madeline to let Fancy play too.  Well, the barking kept up every so often, but I didn't think too much of it.  When I finally crawled out of bed at 7:30 and took a good look in the cage, the one in the wheel was Fancy and her tail was wrapped around one of the spindles holding the wheel in place along with the elastic cord on a hanging cat toy.  Not sure how she did it, but not only was all this twisted up with her tail, but the cord was also tied into knots!  Took me 10 minutes to get her tail loose.  Fur is no longer on part of her tail and it is abraided, but I don't think the skin is broken.  It's not folding in any strange directions, so I don't think the tail is broken either, especially since she is curling it.

Tried to get her in to see a vet, but the only ones local who treat gliders are both out on vacation today and tomorrow!  Called a friend whose mother raises gliders and they said to just keep an eye on her and make sure her tail doesn't get infected and then maybe take her to the vet on Monday.  I've got both Fancy and Madeline here with me at work today and keeping a close eye on them.
