First Post from home
Apr. 8th, 2007 08:01 pmFriday morning, a guy from Comcast came by and hooked up my cable internet and TV. All seemed well until we tried to watch Boondocks on Cartoon Network last night. It was blocked with a TV rating of Mature... We went into the cable box controls and tried to turn off the blocks, but it won't let us. Called Comcast this morning and they sent a signal down the line that should have disabled it, but that didn't work either. Going to have to take my box to the cable office here in town tomorrow and have them exchange it. Also, going to see about picking up a DVR so I can record shows when I won't be home to watch them.
Had a decent weekend. Thursday evening, Adkins drove me in my van up to my parents place to pick up a few things I needed from there including a lawn mower. Friday, we went to look at guns. He's decided after watching the finals of the Smokey Mountain Shootout that he wants to get into Cowboy Action Shooting. So, he's put a couple of single action pistols into layaway. They're very nice :) Also, turns out a friend of mine that I hadn't seen since '92/'93 is the manager of the shop. We spent the evening watching bad movies and eating junk food. Saturday, we drove up to the Smokey Mountain Flea Market and walked around. I got to play with an 8 wk. old Sugar Glider and watch Dave try on cowboy hats :) From there, we hit McKay's Used Books in Knoxville, picked up a few more bad movies including Hell Comes to Frogtown and an old Hammer Horror flick that neither of us had seen called "The Reptile". We'd both seen ads for a resin model of the creature from the film, but had never seen the film. It was interesting and not really that bad. This morning, he took off to Knoxville to see Sidney while I got ready to go and try to get in a game or two of Hordes at Sci Fi City. Got to the mall to find it closed. Dave pulled into the parking lot as I was calling him. We caught some dinner at a steak house in Knoxville then he went home to finish one of his models for Wonderfest and I came home to work on a couple of projects as well.
Quiet evening at home. Doing some sewing, some modeling and some research online for another sewing project.
