Last night, the most amazing thunderstorm rolled through Oak Ridge. I went to W&C's and watched last Sunday's Dresden Files and visited with W&C for a while, then borrowed some DVD's from them and headed home. It was around 10:00 when I got home, so I threw "Wizards" into the DVD player. I'd seen bits and pieces of it, but never watched the whole thing before. It was interesting and definitely fits the time period in which it was made. I thought it was okay, but wasn't overly impressed with it.
About 11:00 the rain started and a little after that I saw some lightening and started hearing distant thunder. I got up when the movie finished and started getting ready to go while listening to the thunder. The windows got closed so the rain wouldn't come in and I didn't have to worry too much about vacuum in the house as the windows and door in the office don't really seal. Despite that, after I'd turned out the lights and lay down, thunder shook the house rattling the windows. I live in a block house with a concrete roof and I could feel the house shaking even with the lightest bits of thunder as the storm rolled overhead. The loud crashes shook everything! As the thunder trailed off, and some of those trails took a minute of more to fade, the house continued to shake. It was beautiful! Lightening flashed so brightly I could see it through the closed blinds. Oh, how I love thunderstorms! It was nice to drift off to sleep to the rumble of thunder :)
On a side note, the rest of my pay came through this morning, so going to take care of a few things on my lunch break.
