Job Update
Apr. 13th, 2006 03:09 pmHad two "panel" interviews this morning and was then told that I had to fill out an application for employment. Not so bad, except that I did not have any of the necessary info with me and I'd left my office without my badge (needed to into the office) and my car keys (needed to get into the car to get cell phone and drivers license). Was allowed to take the app to my office where I could get on-line and look up some of the information on my past jobs. Interviews started at 8:00 a.m. and ended around 10:30. I finally finished the multipart job application around 12:40. Yeah, it was one of those long ones...sigh...
Now, here's the interesting bit. Supposedly, a gentleman named Scott Tanner was supposed to take part in the interview process. I had been told that the number of applicants had been narrowed from 47 between the two positions to 10 for each position. These 20 people would be interviewed, then the choices narrowed to 2-3 for each position and then Scott T. would join the interview process and make the final choices. Well, this morning, Mike was talking to one of the HR peeps in his interview who said they were doing something like 6 interviews today and a couple tomorrow and then would make their final choice from those. Things are so crazy, I'm not sure anyone knows what the process will actually be.
Either way, the plant spent half the day with no IT support.
On the other hand, Mike and I were both impressing people this morning because we both wore suits to work. Also had several people make comments about the fact that I was wearing 3.5" stilettos. They were the only shoes I had that really matched the burgandy suit I am still wearing :) No climbing under tables for me today :)
