Well, the week went okay. Work was work and if I could get my sewing started up again and make enough selling costumes to afford all my bills, insurance and have a little left over for me, I'd quit my job in a heart beat. Had lunch Thursday with [livejournal.com profile] lavender_dragon and that was good. I like getting to know my fellow wenches from the guild. For those who don't know, I'm a member of the International Wenches Guild in the Carolina Wenches Local 96. The local had planned a "Stitch-n-Bitch" so we could get together and work on sewing projects and help those who wanted to learn to sew learn. We shared some tricks and tips and our Vice-madame went over Wenching 211 with us. I joined the wenches guild about 3 or 4 yrs. ago, but the only wenches I knew at the time were in Nashville or Johnson City, 2-3 hrs. away and they were in no way organized nor kept in touch. A couple years ago, one young lady started trying to get a local together for TN and KY, and I filled out some forms for her, but never heard anything back on it until last November when I finally met her in person at the Carolina Renaissance Festival in Charlotte. The local was created, but I have no idea how organized it is. From what I heard yesterday, it sounds like the Carolina Wenches are probably the most organized. We've got people who were members of other locals before moving to NC or SC and they all said that none of them were this well organized with codes of behavior and such. It's nice to be a part of such a great group of women.

Well, for my part, I got my stuff there with plans to work on a doublet for [livejournal.com profile] aikidragon, but left the paper with the his measurements in the van, which [livejournal.com profile] vurumai had with him so he could move his stuff back to Asheville. Oh well, at least I got to meet a good number of the wenches that I had not met before. [livejournal.com profile] thalionar made some scrumptious renaissance era tarts (I want the recipe for that cinnamon and almond one!), Gabby brought some Irish butter and Irish cheddar cheese (both delictable). [livejournal.com profile] silverstah was wonderful host, even letting me stay over for the night Friday night. I remember a couple of book names that I got from them that I need to get copies of, but still need to get a few more names that I've forgotten already. Lots of new info and lots of encouragement from all the ladies in doing the childrens garb booth. Sounds like there's very little in the way of true historic childrens garb being sold anywhere, which surprises me. Oh well, maybe I'll be able to truly get that business started sometime in the next couple of years :)

The drive down and back with [livejournal.com profile] vurumai was pretty good. We talked and listened to music. Had to be careful about the music last night on the drive back though. Slow music made the already sleepy Lorenalis even sleepier, so it had to be skipped over. On the way down, we talked about how things are going in the [livejournal.com profile] guardians_is game. Our GM is wanting to pare it down to 6-8 players in the game and, quite frankly, I don't blame him. Last game there were 3 new people, one of whom didn't play, bringing us to a total of 14 players. That's a lot of people to keep track of if you're a GM. I've willingly offered to step out of the game if there aren't enough slots. I only joined the group a little over 2 yrs. ago and I really enjoy the game, but understand where Ken is coming from as a GM. I'd love to continue playing in the game, and want to, but if there's no room I don't have a problem bowing out. He's even posted the question of having two groups there in two different games so that we could all still get together and socialize together on breaks and such, but we'd have two different games going on. I thought that sounded like a nice idea :)

Slept well last night. [livejournal.com profile] aikidragon apparently has a lot planned for today. We'll see how that goes. Had more to say, but the sleepy brain doesn't want to cooperate this morning. Need food. Well, here's a couple of dice quizzes that have been floating around for the past couple of days. Let me know if you agree with the results.
