Well, some things are changing. Maelona left for her summer job at camp today. I hope she got there okay. She's going to be going through a lot of changes over the next several months. I pray she's gets through it okay.
Found out this evening that the chiropractor will be seeing me three times a week for 4 weeks to try to get my neck straightened out. Here's hoping that works.
Also found out this evening that the play for Highland Rep. has changed. We are no longer doing "Into the Woods". Too many problems all the way around at this point. We will now be doing a play called something along the lines of "I love you to death, now change". We're going from a cast of about 15 to a cast of 4. It's still a musical and still a comedy, but a bit more modern. It should be interesting.
Renfaire this past weekend was nice. I stayed up way too late working on tarts and didn't get any sleep at all Friday night/Saturday morning. We drove over for the faire Saturday morning and I got to see several people I hadn't seen or heard from in over a year and got to see others I hadn't seen since last October. I heard that the MARCO festival at UTK had lost its funding, but then had gotten a grant to fund it so the festival is still. Oak Ridge Ren Faire may be gone by the wayside. What I heard this weekend was that Jamie had 2 hotels that helped sponsor it last year, but both were now under new management and the new managers didn't want to have anything to do with it. I'll have to get in touch with Jamie to find out what's going on with it.
There were lots of great acts at Rogersville, but I only got to see a couple of them. The number of vendors for this year was way down from last year and though attendance was good, I'm not sure that we topped last years. I only sold about 2/3 of my tarts, and once the faire was over gave the remaining tarts to some of the vendors, Labyrinth Gypsy Dancers and the Known World Players. It was great getting to see everyone from the faire again. Rogersville may not be large faire, but it's becoming like a second family and I look forward each year to seeing the people I don't see any other time.
