So, I got up yesterday morning and called Manpower to ask them if they knew that the job they brought us in for was only 4 weeks as the people at Client Logic had told us on our first day at work.  Lindsey, the lady at Manpower, said she was not aware of this as it had originally been given to them as a 3-6 month deal.  She said she'd call Client Logic and find out what was going on.  She called back a few minutes later stating that the people at Client Logic assured her that it would be at least 8 weeks, possibly more.  Right.

So, I got ready to go for the day and headed out on a few errands and then went to hang out at the Barony for a bit.  While I was there, I got a call from Comcast, with whom I'd applied on the recommendation of a friend.  They wanted me to come fill in paper work and do testing for a job that pays $9 an hour.  I'm happy with this.  Not 5 minutes after I get off the phone, the lady calls me back.  She said she'd looked over my resume and saw that I had tech support experience and that they have tech support jobs open.  These jobs come in two levels.  Level 1 pays $10/hr and level 2 pays $10.75 an hour.  She's putting me in for those jobs instead :D  I still go in on Monday at 11:00 to fill out the paperwork, test and do the drug test.  Next, they run a background check, which shouldn't be a problem, and, hopefully, I'll be working for Comcast starting the following Monday.

This bit of security, a full-time job with benefits, is just what I was looking for :)  This means that a couple of weeks after working for them, I should be able to get my own apartment and no longer have to rely on the kindness of friends and family for a place to stay.  I hate being transient like this.

Well, I'm off to get some cleaning done around here :)
