Some promising news, kinda...

Okay, got a call this evening about a job interview. I got a letter from the TN Career Center stating they'd been able to match me up with a job, but I had to go by there this morning to find out what the job is. They gave me a link to go fill out an application and a paper to take with me if I got called in for an interview. Problem, the link didn't work. The good news, the place is only about 2 blocks from where I live. Found their phone number, called and turns out there were 8 different positions that I was qualified to put in for, 4 helpdesk and 4 support specialist. The kicker? The one I got called to interview for is helpdesk, it's also call center and it starts as temp, but could move to permanent in 3-6 months. I could get health insurance, but it'll make the temp position last longer. Oh, and the helpdesk position will start at about $2k per year less than I made at my last job. Yeah, I'll finally be able to afford groceries and some gas, but not much else. If I could get one of the support specialist positions I put in for, I'd make much better money and might actually be able to afford to do something once in a while, like maybe got to Dragon Con again or take an honest to gods vacation where I could go someplace for a week and relax, like, say the beach. I've not been to a beach since I lived in Mexico in 1989...
