Phone Interview???
Jan. 17th, 2008 10:27 pmSo, after the interview Tues, I was told that I would know before the end of that day if the company I'd interviewed for, would want to do their own interview. Didn't get that info until Wed. and I'm told that one of two people will be calling me that afternoon. Kept my phone with me all day, even when I went to do my workout. 6:00 yesterday evening, I'd not gotten a call so e-mailed Nick, the guy who interviewed me Tues. No reply. This morning, I still didn't have a reply so I called around 1:30 in the afternoon and was sent to Nick's voicemail and left a message. At 4:00, I'd not received a call back, so tried calling him again. Finally got him and he said that there was a mix-up on who was supposed to call and when they were supposed to do it. Said the fault was completely his. He's supposed to call me tomorrow to set up a time for another person (not one of the first two he said would be doing it) to call me on Monday. That way, I know exactly what time to start expecting the call. Turns out, the person who will be calling is the person who will be my boss if I get this job.
In other news, dropped off a resume at another place when I went on my lunch break. Saw an ad at Monster.com for Help Desk position with Marriott, but when I went to their site to apply for the job, it wasn't listed. E-mailed them about it and got a form letter back telling me to go back to the site that didn't have the job posted. Problem? The listing at Monster was supposed to have a job number you could search for, but none was listed, nor was there any contact info on the ad. Found another job at CareerBuilder I was going to put in for, said it paid $80-100k/yr. Went to the company site to check it out more and possibly apply to discover it was listed as a "future job" that would be in Iraq. The money is good and I like to travel, but my spidey sense just went haywire so passed on that one.
Hoping something pans out soon. Would like to have something lined up before the end of the month.
News from a completely different angle: A friend has commissioned me to make a kilt. Downloaded instructions for a kilt similar to the utilikilt from XmarkstheScot.com. Doing this one with box pleats and an A shape apron. Will post pics when I'm done.
