Did my workout Saturday.  I've done really well in not missing my workouts at all since my last meeting with my trainer.  Afterwards, went looking for things for the great cookie bake.  Found a few things, but not everything.  Got home around 9:30, ate some supper and got ready for Temples alternative dance night at  Club Legacy in Knoxville.  CJ met me at the door and it was an amusing night.  Did a little dancing.  Tried a new drink called an Element that is a creation of the bartender upstairs.  It's not got a lot of alcohol in it, but, to borrow a phrase from a friend, it tastes like drinking a sweettart :)  Had a couple of guys who couldn't have been over 25 trying to impress me all night.  The first person that CJ introduced me to when I got there was Jay, the guy who runs Temple.  When I was getting ready to leave, he gave me a hug and told me to contact him via MySpace next time I was coming over and he'd introduce me to more people.  Had some interesting discussions concerning armor with one of CJ's friends and turns out the upstairs bartender may actually have a picture of me from Dragon Con's 2003 Dawn Look-a-Like contest :)  Got home about 3:15 and got to bed a little before 4.

Tried to sleep in Sunday morning, but Fancy and Madeline woke me up at 8:00 wanting out of their cage and then came over and checked on me about every half hour until I actually crawled out of bed around 10:00.  Got ready to go and made my way to Sci Fi City for the first time in 3 weeks.  My friend Jaimie came by and we spent the afternoon talking.  Turns out, she'd come by the mall specifically to see me :)  Afterward, went home and tried to watch Tin Man on Sci Fi, but I was so tired I just couldn't concentrate on it.  Stayed up to let the girls play a bit and crawled in bed around 11:30.

Monday, a friend came over after work and we worked on some ideas for kilt patterns.  Tuesday was workout day after work.  Yesterday, while I was at lunch, I got a call from my dad.  My mom's only sibling, her sister June, died yesterday around 1:30.  It was discovered in 1988 that June had breast cancer, but they hadn't caught it in time and it had already spread to her bones.  She had been told that she might have 10 yrs.  She made it a lot longer than expected and the past few years have been hard on her family.  The funeral will probably be Friday evening, but no one has called me with that info yet.  I will go for a bit to show my respects, but I won't stay.  One, I wasn't very close with her and two, I really loathe funerals.

After work last night, I went to Wayne and Claudia's place and gave haircuts to pretty much the whole family.  From there, I went to Kroger to do the last of my grocery/baking shopping.  Observation from all of this grocery/baking shopping?  No one carries Christmas cookie cutters anymore!!!  I'm going to have to take some time Saturday and go hit a couple of specialty cooking stores I know about in Knoxville to see if they have Christmas themed cookie cutters and a few other baking items I'm looking for.  Sigh, I hate shopping in Knoxville at Christmas time.  The traffic is horrid and the stores are usually packed.

And on top of it all, I'm still sleepy as hell.

One of the guys from Dragon Con posted a link to the following article in the D*C community.  Why?  You may ask.  Because the article actually mentions Dragon Con on it's second page :D

MSN City Guides:  Geeky Getaways

I found the article amusing and a little informative and thought I would share :D
