Dave came over Friday and I cooked dinner. I'd been craving stuffed steaks (recipe is in the Atkins Diet Cook Book) and decided that whether he liked them or not, that's what I was cooking. I've only got one 2 quart saucepan, so the hope of having green beans along with the mashed potatoes was passed over. Did get the potatoes made. Dave said he thought the steaks were good, but he's not a fan of mushrooms (stuffing had shiitake mushrooms in it). Not being a bit eater at meals and the steaks not being small, he did eat over half of the steak. We watched Smackdown, looked at a few things on-line, discussed whether or not we'd be attending Dragon Con (we won't unless it's a day trip or, perhaps, an overnight camping out in a friends room for the night, neither of us can really afford it) and he showed me stuff in the new No Quarter from Privateer Press. He left around 11:30 because he had to replace his mom's brakes on Saturday. Said he might come down that evening, but he didn't. I had offered to drive up there and spend the day with him, but didn't call either.
I spent Saturday at home alone. For the first time in almost a year, I pulled out a computer game and played it. Loaded Syberia II and completed all the puzzles from the first town. Stopped playing and started watching episodes of Dead Like Me that I'd recorded on DVR. Later in the evening crawled back into Syberia II for a couple more hours and finished up the puzzles from the next two locations, then crawled into bed.
Sunday, got up, played a little Syberia II, then got ready and drove up to Sci Fi City. Got in a really good game of Warmachine vs. Hordes with Dave. I told Dave I had enough models to field my 500 pt. Rhulic force if he wanted to play. He didn't pick up on the points amount. We put our figs on the table and started playing. In the middle of turn 2 or 3 can't remember which, someone asked as how many points we were playing. At the same time, Dave said 750 and I said 500. We both broke out laughing. He didn't have 500 pt Circle list, so I pulled out all my Rhulic stuff, borrowed a full squad of Hammerfall from Mike and we started over. It was a close game and we both enjoyed it, even though I lost. We were putting figs away when Mike made the comment that this would be the second Sunday in a row that he'd been there all day and not gotten to play a single game. I told him to work up a 500 pt. list and I'd play him. He took an army with no warjacks in it while I had a force that was geared toward taking out jacks. If I'd known he'd not have jacks, I'd have had a completely different army list. It was a fun game, but again, I lost. Came home, watched the last of the recorded Dead Like Me episodes, watched last weeks Burn Notice and started the Dr. Who episodes I recorded Fri. Got to bed by 11:30.
Before leaving the mall yesterday, Dave said that he would be down Friday of this week, maybe sooner if they got laid off again at his work again.
