Tripping again to Lexington
May. 20th, 2007 11:05 pmI find out tomorrow if I'll be spending most of the week in Lexington, KY. The boss is sending me up to work with 2 temps at the ELAN plant. They're renting me a vehicle to drive and paying all the expenses, which is good since I'm currently waiting on a check from my old car insurance company so I can afford gas and a few groceries. See last Monday's post for that rant...
In other news, the new mock-up of the Elizabethan boned tabbed corset fit properly, so now I can cut the cover fabric for it and start putting it together. Waiting on 4 more pieces of boning to get here for it as well. Since Grannd wouldn't ship anything less than $5, I went ahead and ordered the Laughing Moon pattern for Victorian frock coats and vests. Figured I was going to need it anyway for Dave's Cowboy Action Shooting outfit, so decided to go ahead and get it.
Also, looking for opinions. I wouldn't be shooting, but would accompany Dave to his competitions. In doing so, I'd want to be in garb as well and I'm trying to decide which outfit to make or just use the one I already have. Here are links to the patterns for dresses I'm considering doing:
Waist Blouse with 5 gore skirt - I'd do a blouse like the one pictured with the skirt
Day Dress - I make one like the striped version
Saloon Girl - I've already got this pattern, just haven't done anything with it yet.
Velvet Victorian - I made this several years ago for a dueling demo at Biltmore House in Asheville.
Which one do you guys like?
