In the house, finally...

So, today was the major move-in day for the new house.  I spent the night at Lena & Ken's so I could get up this morning.  The plan?  Get up about 8:00 and start loading the van.  Well, got started, but didn't have much help to start with.  Had appointment set up for 10:00 to pick up the washer and dryer.  It was only a 20 minute drive to get there, but Ken insisted on leaving at 9:10.  We got the washer and dryer and were chatting a little with the couple who gave it to me when Adkins called.  He was trying to find the street I live on :)  He beat us there and helped by attempting to hook the washer and dryer up while the rest of us headed back to L&K's to finish loading the van.  Lena had said she'd work on the van while we were gone...  She loaded a couple of boxes and quit.  I loaded most of the van by myself while L&K argued over how the trailer should be loaded...  I headed out before they did and called my parents who were bringing over a load from there place.  All I'd asked the parents to bring were the desk and cutting counter.  Well, dad had decided to pack up a bunch of stuff that I had in the garage and bring it.  The cutting counter and another dresser that I didn't need there at the moment were loaded on Ben's truck.  I had part of the van unpacked when dad got there.  Dad and I finished the van, then started on the truck.  We were just about done with the truck when Dave got there and then Ben and L&K finally got there with the furniture.  Ben, dad and Ken spent, I kid you not, over 15 minutes debating whether they could get the cutting counter into the sewing room instead of trying to do it.  It did go in and it's a perfect height for a cutting table.

Everyone got the nickle tour, including my mom when she finally showed up after having an MRI (dad had dropped her off before coming over and then went to get her).  I hadn't yet planned on putting anything in the work building until I could get it cleaned up, but a bunch of the stuff that dad brought over went there because I just don't have room for it in the house right now.  After everyone else left, Dave and I played with my new Sugar Glider for a bit, then went for the stuff we needed for hooking up the washer and dryer properly.  After hitting Home Depot for parts, we ate dinner at Applebee's and then went back to the house for a few so he could finish the washer and dryer.  My parents had been back and brought my desk.  L&K had yet to show with the futon and didn't show until Dave and I were getting ready to head out.  We got that in and into place and then we all left.  I'm now at work and will be here until midnight, then it's over to Wal-mart to pick up some more necessary items for the house, ie. dish soap, toilet paper, hand soap, stuff for cleaning furniture, etc.  Tonight, will be my first night spent in the house :)  Looking forward to it.  Hope to pick up the new mattress and box springs either tomorrow morning or sometime next week, then I'll actually be able to sleep in my bed instead of on the futon...
