So, called Alicia yesterday about the Earnest money for the house. Not sure what they did or how they swung it, but they're now counting the $300 from the closing costs that is being used for the home inspection as part of my Earnest money. So, instead of having to write them a check for $500, all I had to give them was $250. When we go to close, all I'll have to pay is $30.50. Which means there's a bit more in my account to cover getting the utilities swapped into my name and getting a few Christmas presents :D

Also, finally remembered to get in touch with Susan concerning the washer and dryer she is going to give me. She'd gotten her new set in, but hasn't yet taken her old set to her daughters. She's going to give me a call when they're ready for us to go pick the set up at her place.

Talked to my brother this evening, as well. Turns out, the house I'm buying is just down the street from where he and his wife used to live when they were in Oak Ridge. I called him because he'd left a message on my voicemail about a family Christmas get together. I told him that I doubted I'd be able to make it because I'd probably be scheduled to work that day. I doubt I'd go anyway. These people never associate with me, we have nothing in common and they have no interest in anything I'm doing. Can we say that I'm the freak in the family :)

Anyway, was chatting with Claudia about this over the weekend as I had a run-in with my Dad on Friday. Seems that since he's never heard or never remembers hearing any of the crap mom has said to me that he doesn't believe me and doesn't understand why it bothers me so much. Yeah, they care, but they can't accept me for who I am nor can they refrain from judging me. So, I no longer count myself as having parents. Instead, I have a tribe/clan. Those of you who know me in person and are close friends are definitely part of that tribe. Those I don't know as well, you're at least friends of the tribe ;) So, I have a rather large tribe/clan and must say that you guys have treated me far better than my own family.

Well, guess I should get off of here and get back to work.
