Well, life's been okay lately. Was out of touch for all of last week. Spent most of it workinga temp contract. The company wrote the contract for 40 hrs. Even after the busy work they gave me to try to help me fill the hours of the contract, I finished it in 34.75 hrs. What's sad about this? I only get paid for hours worked...sigh...
Car problems are plaguing me once again. Going to have to take the car into the shop and get the spark plug wires replaced. Already replace the spark plugs and the fuel filter. Will be contacting a garage about replacing the wires this week.
Was treated to dinner Thurs. evening by a friend I hadn't seen in a couple of months. For those who know him James, aka Wookie, says Hi! We talked for about 3 hrs. at Outback Steakhouse in Knoxville. He's had one hell of a year. His daughter has had a tumultuous year that included having a fight with a boyfriend who was killed in a car accident almost immediately after their fight. Add to this, his mother has a very aggressive form of cancer and is only expected to live for about another month. For those who know him and are going to con, he'll be there and will be in charge of the Swordplay Alliance demos. Don't think E&S will be there this year.
Spent the weekend at
shdwkitten and
emrys_nc's along with
noreht and
bioignis. We played an RPG using pirate type characters on an alternate earth during the 1600's using the SAGA rules system. It was fun and a little confusing. Kitten had never used these rules before, several of us hadn't played with them in a number of years, and with Bioignis playing a female character and my character being male who wouldn't be confused. Fun was had by all and that is what was important.
I booked out yesterday around noon as we had another group meeting here. As per normal, everyone was supposed to be here by 2:00, but half the group didn't show until 3 and gaming didn't start until 4. Joe was running his Star Wars game, so I got to play Pishi, a 12 yr. old male Squib based on the Annoying Squib template. I'm finding him an enjoyable character. He's gotten into trouble a few times, but also helped the group out of trouble a couple of times :) It's fun playing a member of a race who's main purpose in life seems to be collecting other peoples trash, you'd be surprised what you can find there :)
After the game, trimmed Kathy's hair and made arrangements to give Joe a haircut today.
Hoping to hear back soon about a couple of jobs I've put in for. Here's hoping I hear something this week :)
