Where, oh where have I been?
Jan. 12th, 2006 12:18 pmHad a wonderful time going to see BloodRayne with
edgarfriendly and the rest of the geeks last Friday. The movie was cheesy as hell. They tried to make it serious, but it was just too funny. Not overly realistic. This is definitely MST3K material :)
Slept in on Saturday, then worked from 1:00 until a little after 9:00. Sunday was shopping, cooking and gaming which went well.
Monday started Jury Duty. Not sure how it runs elsewhere, but apparently Haywood County runs Superior Court in sessions. They accept so many jury cases per session and pull a pool of around 50 people for jury duty. For the first trial, they randomly select people from the pool to sit the jury. Once they have a jury all agree on, the rest of the group is either sent back to the assembly room if the trial won't take long, sent home and told to come back later if they think they can get done with this one in 2-3 hours or sent home and told to call a particular phone number after 5:30 to see if they'll need you the next day. I sat a in a jury on Monday and those of us who were part of that thought "Great, we've gotten this over with and can go home and not worry about this for another 2 yrs." Did that happen? Nope. We were told to be back the next day at 9:30 as we could get pulled for another jury. Yesterday, they told us they wouldn't need us today, but we have to call in after 5:30 to see if they will need us tomorrow. We're stuck in this cycle until they run out of jury cases to try, which could be sometime next week. Joy. At least I'm getting some reading and sewing done.
As some of you know and others don't but may have noticed, I don't get on-line much from home. I spend so much time on computers at work that I really don't like to spend a lot of time on them at home, hence my not posting nor responding to anything anyone has posted since last Friday afternoon. So, if you posted something you wanted me to respond to, please link it in the comments to this post and I'll take a look as soon as I can.
Well, back to work. And if you don't see me again until sometime next week, you'll know I'm still going in for Jury Duty.
