The Weekend
Aug. 9th, 2005 09:28 amWell, I had a decent weekend :) Friday night
aikidragon
and I went to see Sky High. It's a cute movie, very much like a kiddie
super hero comic done live action style. It's fun, a little
predictable, but fun. Not as good as other super hero movies, but most
other super hero movies aren't targeted at a 5-12 yr. old audience
either :)
Saturday, I finished the alterations on one of ladysnowleopard's suits then went to spend the evening with my friend Teresa. Teresa and I met at Barnes and Noble and chatted for a bit, then chatted with
satyrblade
for a few minutes before going for some supper. Food was had at
Applebee's and was delicious as always. We didn't get out of there
until 8:30 and then went "speed shopping" at the Mall. Since Teresa
hadn't really had anything else planned, we sped through the mall
looking for some boots and solid black hip-huggers for my Death
costume. Made one pass pretty quickly and didn't find anything, but
went back to Hot Topic because we'd not looked at their shoes. Got
there 5 minutes before they closed and they stayed open another
half-hour to let me try on boots. Walked out with a new pair of
knee-high combat looking boots :)
Sunday, got up took our friends Joe and Kirk out for breakfast at Waffle House. From there we went to Wal-mart to pick up a few things we needed and check out some costume possibilities. Apparently, Wal-mart finally got in some Jordache hip-huggers in black that weren't those striated pos'. Interestingly enough, I had on a pair of black Lee Riders I'd gotten there the previous weekend which were a size 12 and were a little baggy. In the Jordache I had to get a size 15-16. Jordache have always been sized a bit small, but I hadn't realized they'd gone that small! From there it was back home to drop of our stuff and then we headed over to Kirk and Joe's for gaming. Kirk was starting yet another game, this time using the D6 system. It wasn't too bad and we got farther along than I expected. Time setting is 1941 and it's kind of a "Lost World" type setting. So far, we've crashed a plane in freak storm, beached on a small island, gone through a hurricane from the storm and woke up in prehistoric setting. There, we've seen Pteranadon's, cheetah people and come across the dwelling of a disciple of Dr. Moreau (from "The Island of Dr. Moreau"). Should be an interesting game.
Also, Congratulations to
shdwkitten for finishing 4th in her Motorcycle Safety class this past weekend! I'm proud of you, lady! *hugs*
Now, off to get more work done :)
