GARF!

Had a great time this weekend!  For those not in the know, I'm a part of the International Wenches Guild and each Local for the guild chooses a home faire.  During that faire, one weekend is chosen as Invasion Weekend and the local at that faire hosts a gathering for wenches from other locals.  There were a lot of people from the Carolina Local 96 who went and it was great getting to see them all again as well as meeting a few new ones.  We stayed in Marrietta with katfireblade and had a great time.  She is a very gracious host.  Hightlights from the weekend included:

Getting to faire late, but in time to catch up with silverstah, _himself_, thalionar, wilhelm, corbaewench, witchmystic, doveofgrace and some new people I hadn't met before (I think that got everyone at the gate). Everyone looked fabulous and it was a beautiful day!
Getting back to the pub and getting to see Miss Rose and _good_kitty who also looked wonderful.  It's always good to see them :)
After food, we started going through shop and stopped by The Leather Rose.  The young lady who sold me my leather corset was there and relaced the corset for since aikidragon always has trouble with it.  Bought a new feather hair piece from them and wore it for the rest of the day. 
aikidragon sent katfireblade and I to get drinks a when he came back he'd gone back to The Leather Rose and bought me a rose :D
We caught a PG show from the Tortuga Twins and I ran into some people from the Mountain Renaissance Adventure Faire.
Caught one of the jousting shows.  It was okay, but not as good as some I've seen.
Back at the pub we got to hear 3/4 Ale and ran into melancholia, piraterogue, johnbroadfoot, lavender_dragon, ladyleo and her rogue, kerowyn_hawk and tempest, alliesutherland (I think that's right) and a whole slew of new people.
Went back down to the Imaginarium for their end of day drawing.  katfireblade won a small dragon puppet! Yay!!!  Then aiki finally got the rest of my b-day present by buying me a fairy puppet.
Pub sing was great!  Got to hear a lot of new people and new songs.  All in all it was a great day and was wonderful to have kat along with us :)

Sunday was supposed to be sunny/partly cloudy according to the last forecast I'd seen.  Turns out that rain that was slated for TN dropped a little further south and we got soaked.  aiki and I caught the last fight in the Hack and Slash show and wondered around areas of the faire we'd missed the day before.  Caught up with the Raleigh crew at the Lost Boys show.  That was fun.  Definitely need to get a copy of their CD :)
Ate lunch at the Tea Room where aiki and I sat with thalionar and wilhelm.  The teas were wonderful!  aiki had a scottish pasty (a type of chicken pie) and I had crackers and cheese.  Both were very good.
Afterward, we roamed with thalionar and wilhelm a bit then decided it was too wet and cold so we headed back to their hotel to get ready for dinner that night.  Turns out, we only left faire about 45 minutes before closing.
Dinner was at the Vortex in downtown Atlanta.  Gourmet hamburgers were had by most.  Several got a few shots of whiskey, scotch or vodka.  I got to try sips of 3 and in all of those the only one I didn't really like was the one witchmystic bought. 
katfireblade made it in time for the food to arrive so she ordered dessert.  She'd had other things going on that day so hadn't gone to faire with us.  It was good getting to see her there.  By the time we were ready to head out it was after 11:00 so we called to see if we could stay at Kat's one more night. 

Came back Monday morning and had to work a few hours, then it was back home and up to aiki's parents for a cookout.  Afterwards it was back home for vege time.  I had wanted to finish a pair of harem pants so I could wear them for bellydance class tonight, but was just too tired.  I'll get them done this evening after class.
