Weekend

Didn't get as much done as I'd liked, but it wasn't a bad weekend.

Friday evening I worked on the roll cap that goes with the tunic I'm making. For those who don't know, I've been commissioned by a member of the Asheville Storytellers Circle to make her a cap and tunic for the faire this weekend. Got a little frustrated with the cap, so left off on it to go help [livejournal.com profile] aikidragon and a friend complete a quest on EQII. Crawled into bed about midnight.

Saturday, I'd asked [livejournal.com profile] aikidragon to take my car out and get it inspected while I finished up the cap and got ready to go to TN. He had other plans and decided that we'd take my car, get it inspected then leave for my parents from the inspection station. Problem was, we didn't leave the house until 11:30, which means we didn't get headed to TN until after 12. I'd wanted to leave sooner as I knew my parents were going to be doing something that evening and we wouldn't have a lot of time there. Part way there, I remembered that one of the items I'd needed to take had gotten left at home. So, guess what? Weekend after next we'll be heading back to TN...sigh... Arrived at my parents around 2:30. They fed us lunch and we chatted for a bit. Told them about vacation, showed off sovenirs (sp?) and generally caught up on stuff. From there, went by my brothers to drop off B-day presents for his kids. Katie (7 yr. old niece) got her hair cut very short. In pictures she actually looks like a little boy. Nic (1 yr. old nephew) won't get to actually hold or play with the books I got him for his B-day as he will rip them apart. We had fun playing with both of the kids and I got to teach my brother how to write a CD and that having an item in your e-mail is not the same as having it as a file on your computer.

After that, we went to the Hancock's in Knoxville for their once a year blow-out sale. I spent $120 and walked out with 11 yds. of upholstery fabric (5 yds. of on at $4 per yd. and 2 yds each of 3 others), 5 yds. each of 2 cotton broadcloths and the last yd. and 1/4 of another broadcloth. I now have some more colors for making stock for the booth I hope to open back up next year for faire. Now, to get time to work on all the kids clothing I need to make :)

Sunday, [livejournal.com profile] aikidragon left early to help a friend move her furniture to her new place. I got up a couple of hours later and played around on EQII for a couple of hours, then started cleaning house. This was game day at our house and the house was a mess. I washed 4 loads of clothes and 4 sink-loads of dishes. After [livejournal.com profile] aikidragon got home, I put away the groceries he'd bought and then started sewing. Finished the cap except for the hand stitching (will do that at lunch today). Also finished the dickey and after ripping seams out 3 times finally got the tunic put partially together. For gaming, Kirk took over and ran a DC game. Aiki is playing Batman, [livejournal.com profile] phetalone is playing Huntress, Joe is the Unknown soldier, Kathy is playing a ninja/spy type and I've got Black Canary. [livejournal.com profile] phetalone is not as familiar with DC as she is Marvel, but after a few short descriptions of the character, picked it up and played it as if she'd been reading the comic for years. Everyone did a good job and it ended at about 10:00, but the last peeps didn't leave until 11:00.

Sleep was good, that is until about 2:00 a.m., then I woke up and never really went back to sleep good...sigh... Tired this morning. Need to get some work done, but don't really want to be here. Busy day, even after work. Meeting [livejournal.com profile] calmacil to pick out fabric for her tunic and then heading to massage therapy. Hoping to finish this weekends tunic tonight so I can get started on [livejournal.com profile] calmacil's tomorrow. Not only that, need to sew up 2 skirts I have cut out and finish the hem on my new chemise, all before Saturday :)
